Threader Technologies Ltd ("we", "us", "our") operates the Career Threader application and website at careerthreader.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our services. Threader Technologies Ltd is the data controller for the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
We collect information you provide directly to us, including your name, email address, company name, role, and any other information you submit through our application forms or when using our tools. We also collect usage data automatically, including IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and interaction patterns within our application.
We use the information we collect to provide and improve our services, manage your access, communicate with you about your account, send service-related notices, and respond to your requests and enquiries. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Career Threader uses the Anthropic Claude API to power its strategic analysis tools. When you use a tool, relevant inputs (including content from uploaded documents) are sent to the Anthropic API for processing. Anthropic does not retain API input data beyond the duration of the request, and their API terms contractually prohibit using customer data for model training. We do not use your uploaded content or tool outputs to train AI models. Your strategic work stays yours.
Your account data, project data, and uploaded files are stored in the EU (Supabase, EU region). When you use AI-powered features, your inputs are processed by Anthropic's Claude API, which operates from US-based infrastructure. This transfer is necessary to provide the service and is covered by Anthropic's data processing terms. We do not transfer your stored data outside the EU for any other purpose.
Your data is stored securely using Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security policies. Authentication is handled via Supabase Auth with email-based magic links. All data transmission is encrypted via HTTPS. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
We use the following third-party services to operate Career Threader: Cloudflare (hosting and content delivery), Supabase (database and authentication), Anthropic Claude API (AI-powered analysis), and Stripe (payment processing). Each of these providers has their own privacy policies governing how they handle data.
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, restrict or object to processing, data portability, and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@careerthreader.com.
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management, which do not require consent. We also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website and application. Google Analytics sets cookies that collect anonymised usage data (pages visited, session duration, referral source). You may opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Preference settings (such as audio toggle state) are stored in your browser's local storage. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you request deletion of your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records.
